Welcome to the Pride In Graphics FTP Portal!

Did You Know?

...that if you use a Windows computer, your Internet Explorer
browser can double as an FTP tool?

Here we'll show you how to set up Internet Explorer versions 5 and
above to use FTP.  You won't even have to navigate away from this
page.

NOTE:  If you're using Internet Explorer 7, please see our special
instructions below.
Also note that FTP features are not available in
Internet Explorer for the Macintosh.

First, let's take a look at the files:

Since we utilize the Prinergy PDF workflow, our ideal format for file
submission is a high-resolution PDF, with all fonts and images
included, colors labeled, and images properly linked.
Though we
do use Enfocus's PitStop to spot-fix PDFs before they go to plate,
n
ative files should be supplied along with your PDFs if you
anticipate that
Pride Prepress alterations will be needed.

We also accept Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher,
and Corel Draw files; but we recommend special attention during
customer review of the proof, as translation between the
programs often leads to unexpected results.

I've got properly formatted PDFs, now what?

Have you reviewed our PROTIPS in the left sidebar?

FTP Portal
PRIDE FTP PROTIP #1:

Before beginning any file
transfer, it's a good idea
to compress your file in a
ZIP folder to avoid
corrupting images, fonts,
and touchy Quark
documents.

Simply get all your files
and folders together into
one master folder,
right-click, choose "Send
To....", and then select
"Compressed File/Folder".
A folder will appear on
your desktop with a zipper
graphic on it, which you
can then drag and drop
into our file transfer
system.

We recommend that you
name your main folder
with your company name,
and a unique signifier
(usually a brief description
of the job).

Example:  XYZ Mailing
Services is submitting
artwork for a trifold mailer
they'd like us to work on.
Suggested folder names
might be:

XYZtrifold
XYZmailer

Be sure to email us when
submitting your files so we
can confirm receipt and
start production on your
job immediately.

PRIDE FTP PROTIP #2:

Keep those filenames
short and sweet!

Filenames should be
under twenty characters
and there should be no
spaces or unusual
characters in the names.
In a case where you would
like to keep all your
filenames symmetrical for
organizational purposes,
and would like to include
spaces to make them
easier to read, use an
underscore.

Example:  XYZMailer1 can
also be names as
XYZ_Mailer_1
;
XYZmailerfont becomes
XYZ_Mailer_Font; et al.
Now you're ready to begin!

1.        Open Internet  Explorer.

2.        In the address field, enter ftp:// and then your FTP host,
          like this:   ftp://ftp.ftppride.net.

3.        Click the "Go" button.

4.        You may see a dialogue asking you to enter your user name
and password. If you do not see this dialogue, click the
"File"  menu in the upper-left corner of the window and
          select "Login As..."

5.         In the "User name" field of the "Log On As" dialog, enter
your FTP user ID.   Your user ID is customer@ftppride.net
           and your password is pride.

6.         Click "Log On."

When you successfully connect, the window will display our
uploads file folder.  You can view, rename, delete, and organize
files in this folder exactly as you'd work with files on your
computer. To transfer a file to our uploads folder, just locate the
file on your computer and drag it into the Explorer window.

FOR FTP EXPERTS:

What's that?  You
already have a
third-party FTP Client?

Outstanding.  All you'll
need is the login
information then.

Please use the following:

Host site:

ftp.ftppride.net

Login:

customer@ftppride.net

Password:

pride

Please note we are not
enabled for anonymous
login at this time.

Interested in using third
party clients for your
MAC and PC?  Paul at
Pride recommends
FileZilla.  It works well
with XP and Vista
platforms (surprisingly)
and is easy to install and
use.   We also
recommend Cyberduck
and Fetch for the MAC
platform, and SmartFTP
for the power Windows
user.  All versions are
available free for
download from the
Internet.  Contact us for
more info.

Internet Explorer 7 users:

Microsoft changed a few things in its latest release of the
Internet Explorer browser. You'll just need to complete one
additional step to set up your FTP connection.

  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above. In step 3, you will not see a

user name and password dialog.

  2. Click the "View" menu, then "Open FTP in Explorer."

  3. Click the "File" menu again, then "Login As..."

  4. Continue setting up your connection from step 4 above.
